Tennis Policies

Dress Policy

Acceptable tennis attire at Manchester Country Club includes recognized tennis attire. Mock turtle neck shirts are permissible, no T shirts or tank tops.

It is extremely important to wear appropriate tennis shoes on the courts. The MCC courts can be damaged by improper footwear. Unacceptable shoes on the courts are: running, cross-training, golf or track shoes. Also unacceptable are shoes with significant cleats.

Members, their families and guests who are not properly attired will be asked to leave the tennis court(s).

Registration

All players (members, their families and guests) must register at the Pro Shop prior to start of play on the tennis courts.

Reserving Courts

Courts may be reserved one week prior to play. Only one tennis session may be reserved per day. A tennis session will be 1 ½ hours. Tennis sessions will begin at 7:30 AM (booked in 1 ½ hour increments) and end at dusk. Any person reserving a court must provide the names of each player and specify whether the player is a member or guest. Members wishing to organize a special event or events should contact the tennis chairperson who will process the request and help schedule the event if approved by the Tennis Committee. Club events will be scheduled by the Tennis Committee.

The teaching professional may reserve courts for member lessons.

 Guests

Members are responsible for the guest’s tennis fee. The fee will be charged to the member’s account at the time the member and guest register to play. Members must play with their guests. There will be no unaccompanied guests using the courts. Guests may play up to five times each season; Guests who desire additional play should be encouraged to become members of MCC.  Guest play is not intended to be an alternative to membership.

Court Care & Maintenance

Upon completion of a session, players are responsible for preparing the court(s) for use by sweeping the court and cleaning the lines. Please allot 5-10 minutes at the end of the tennis session to maintain the courts. Players are to inform the Pro Shop if the courts(s) are not ready for play when they arrive.
